A Thousand Hired Hands Available Nationwide in Panama for Holy Week

The National Migration Service (SNM) announced the deployment of 989 units as part of the national operation “Safe Holy Week 2026.” This initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Public Security, seeks to strengthen immigration controls and ensure compliance with current regulations during this period of high mobility. The staff will be strategically distributed throughout the country, with the largest concentration in Panama City (663 units) That will be followed by provinces such as Chiriquí (69), Colón (56), Herrera (47), and Coclé (29). Inspectors will also be present in Veraguas (28), Darién (25), Chepo (22), Los Santos (21), Bocas del Toro (17), and Guna Yala (12). This effort by the SNM is part of a total force of 26,500 personnel from various security agencies, including the National Police, Senafront, Senan, and SUME 911. The actions will focus on verifying the status of foreigners and preventing illicit activities at key locations nationwide.
