A 35-year-old woman was apprehended in Betania, as she was wanted in the province of Chiriquí for the alleged crime against economic assets in the form of fraud. She would make her victims believe that they were receiving a package from abroad and that they had to pay a tax to have it released and delivered. They requested that the money be deposited into various accounts. They contacted the victims by impersonating a friend or relative living abroad. The case has been referred to the Second Prosecutor’s Office Against Property Crimes, which is investigating the incident.
