Panama’s First Pay-Per-View Professional Boxing Match Happens Saturday

2026-03-13 - 23:57

Professional boxing in Panama will kick off its 2026 calendar this Saturday with a Pay-Per-View card to be held at the Vasco Núñez de Balboa Convention Center, the venue that will host the first event of the year in the country. The event is organized by Master Promotions and G&V Entertainment, who have prepared a day with local and international fighters, although the program underwent some modifications during the previous week. The main event of the evening will pit Colombian Jhan Estiven Camacho against Dominican Luis Reynaldo Núñez in a 10-round bout at 130 pounds. One of the highlights of the evening will be the professional debut of Moisés Yoav Rodríguez from Colón pictured above. Rodríguez, who has nearly 200 amateur fights under his belt, will face Jaison Mendoza in a four-round bout at 128 pounds, marking the start of his professional boxing career. The fight card will also feature international fighter Yuki Asaka from Japan, who will face Panama’s Ezequiel Bonilla in a six-round bout in the 105-pound minimum division. The program, however, underwent a major change in the last week. The fight originally billed as the main event between Jonathan Miniel and John Valencia, scheduled for 10 rounds at 150 pounds, was canceled after Miniel experienced physical discomfort during final training sessions. Another fight that was left in limbo was the clash between Alexander Durán and Venezuelan Michael Ramírez. The South American boxer was unable to obtain his visa in time to enter the country, so the fight may be rescheduled for next Saturday at an event planned for Santiago de Veraguas, with Maximiliano Bonilla as the main event.
